How to keep the wood vibrant and durable
Caring for a knife with a wooden handle requires a little extra care, but the process is quick and easy. Our knives are treated with a varnish to make them partially waterproof, but hand washing is always the best way to keep them in top condition. The dishwasher is too aggressive for the wood and can damage it. Use lukewarm water and a soft cloth to clean them, and be sure to dry them well to prevent the wood from remaining damp for too long.
Occasional treatment with a mineral or Danish oil is ideal to keep the wooden handle in top condition. However, if these oils are not available, olive oil can be used as a substitute, although it is less specific for this purpose. If you choose olive oil, be careful not to overdo it: a few drops on a soft cloth are enough to keep the wood moist without making it heavy or sticky.
Finally, after applying the oil, leave the wood to soak for a few minutes and then remove the excess with another clean cloth. With regular and careful care, the wooden handle of your knife will remain shiny, durable and beautiful over time, maintaining its quality and natural charm.
